FEELS LIKE FALL

Before heading to the bar for football, me and the fam went apple picking. I’m not really a jersey guy, but still wanted to rep my team so I went with the NFL Team Apparel short sleeve polo. Being today was a little chilly and it felt like fall, I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to short-sleeves so I layered it with my wool insulated plaid GAP vest. Lately I’ve been having a harder time finding a decent pair of jeans. My wife is a big fan of American Eagle, and she kept suggesting I try there. I was totally against it because I felt like if I shopped at American Eagle it would be nothing but clothing for a teen. After being reluctant to shop there I finally gave in and tried on a pair. These have a decent fit and give off that distressed look. They have a slim cut leg and fall on the boot nicely. This is my first pair of GRAVIS Shoes. These are the trekker boots. GRAVIS is a Japan based extreme sports brand. I was a little reluctant buying a boot from a sneaker company but turned out I really like these a lot. I like the rugged look and they have the comfort of a sneaker. These don’t have the premium materials you might find in a high-end boot but they are waterproof, which will hopefully help them last. Wifey picked me up these neon camo Under Armour socks to keep up my sock game. This is a Victorinox Swiss Army CHRONO Classic Men’s Watch Model 241123. It has a swiss quartz movement (battery operated). The dial is blue with gold subdials, and the case is stainless steel and Gold-PVD. I really like how the gold and silver look with the navy blue. This is my first Swiss Army watch. It came with a silver and gold stainless steel band and I switched it for today with a Crown and Buckle NATO strap.

REAL GUYS WEAR SALMON

I really like the drawstring on these Rake Shorts by Cotton-On…so much so, I bought 4 pairs in different colors right at the start of summer. I like the fit and the fact that they’re cut right above the knee. The style of them is a little preppy with a frayed cut giving them a little bit of edge. They’re super comfortable (almost feels like a pair of sweat shorts) but look clean. This graphic tee by OBEY is thin with a super soft cotton. I love the gym-style cut of the sleeves and neck with the distressed graphic on the front. Love this Casio x In4mation G-Shock GLX-5600XA. I have quite a few G-Shocks, but the hawaiian inspired color sold me on this one. The G-Shock iteself will never go out of style and are built to last forever. To be honest, I don’t really use any of the functions that these watches have but I love the fact that it’s solar powered and I never need a battery – and that it’s water proof…great for the beach, gym or poolside. These are the Ronnie Fieg x PUMA Disc Blaze “Coat of Arms” sneakers. I’m a big fan of the PUMA disc silhouette and like most of Ronnie Fieg’s collabs. With the nubuck coral toe box accented with the black leather sides and 3m paint splatters on the sole, the materials are premium. These were a limited release – happy I was able to get a pair.

MEAN MUGGIN’ TAT

Color Baby Portrait Tattoo

I am huge tattoo fan and constantly looking at tattoo artists and their artwork. Unfortunately, like many others, I regret my first tattoo (tribal, which I will not show!). Once I started getting that tattoo itch again, I searched for years for a tattoo artist and a tattoo that was worth putting on my body. At this point I felt that every tattoo needed to have a meaning after the first one had no meaning and now will eventually be removed. Now that I’ve learned, I would never just go to any tattoo parlor and throw anything on my body. It also kills me when people tell me the reason they chose a certain tattoo studio is because they’ve gotten a good deal on it! Being from NY its hard to find (in my eyes) a good tattoo artist for less than $300 – $500/hr. Once I finally figured out what I wanted as my next tattoo, the search to find a tattoo artist that I liked and what I could afford was the next hardest task. I started looking for tattoo artists outside of NY and while searching a very well known tattoo artists’ site (Shane O’Neil), I came across Steve Wimmer’s profile. After looking at his art I knew this was definitely someone I’d like to get tattooed by. Seeing that his art was so good I was skeptical the price was going to be outrageous. In my eyes it wasn’t and it ended up being a good fit. Some people think driving 4 hrs for a tattoo is nuts. This tattoo is going to be on your body for the rest of your life. For me driving 4 hrs is worth it (I drive 4 hours just to go skiing for the day). I wasn’t sure what photo I was gonna get until the night before and then I remember looking over and seeing this picture of my son making a funny growling face. It just reminds me a little of myself – I can see me taking that same photo. I also know that every time I look down at this tattoo it will make me smile. The tattoo came out amazing. I am constantly getting stopped in public to look at it and compliments and will be going back in October to get my 3rd tattoo from him (in the direction of completing my sleeve). More tattoos to come…
