By now you probably know me and that I’m known for going sockless with a lot of my looks…even in winter! But, when I do rock socks, it’s usually not for comfort or warmth LOL but instead to add a little something to my outfit! So, if I’m going to rock a pair of socks, I want them to have a little something extra: a cool design, fun colors, texture, a pattern…you get the point!

My go-to brand when I’m in need of fun, colorful & funky socks? Happy Socks! They’re known for having fun & colorful sock selections in super cool and vibrant patterns and have so many different ones to choose from! They also do really cool Limited Edition sock collabs like their Beatles and Rolling Stone socks with their iconic graphics…gotta love that famous tongue!

I’m always drawn to classic designs, patterns and icons, and it was love at first sight when I saw these Smiley Heart Happy Socks! I love the bold red heart pattern with the touch of the cheeky smiles again the contrasting sock color. I think I tend to gravitate towards bold simplistic patterns when it comes to socks, rather than overly busy and colorful…but that’s just me! That’s why these were right up my alley and I immediately knew what pieces I was going to rock with them!

I feel like some might normally think to only want to rock these during Valentine’s day, but I’m all for the love & smiles all year long. Honestly, this kind of pattern is so in right now and is the kind of classic icon that just doesn’t get played out. I mean, check out my sneakers! It was only right that I played up the heart icon with these. I kept the rest of my outfit simple but had to bring out that red! I’m digging this casual street look with these Happy Socks! I also grabbed this same pair in the red because I just loved the pattern so much, but my wife already snagged them from me! 🙂

If you head to Zappos.com you’ll find so many different Happy Sock styles to choose from! They have them for men, women, and kids. And even have some fun gift sets to pick up for the holidays. Do you shop on Zappos? I do all the time. I can’t resist a website with multiple product categories, tons of styles to choose from, 24/7 customer service and free shipping and returns. It’s nice to be able to shop for the entire family and not have to worry about being stuck with merchandise because you didn’t return it in time (ummm hello 365 day return policy)! You honestly can’t beat that!

RUGGED BASICS

Went out to one of my favorite spots this weekend, the Eleven-11 Bar & Grille, with a couple of my faves for some good food and drinks. I decided to wear my new green Goorin Good Boy Fedora from Urban Outfitters. Lately I’ve been really digging these style hats. The green color is very rich and the silhouette is much different than my rust hat. Rather than wearing a basic tee, I wore my French Connection short-sleeve Henley, to dress up my casual look a bit. I’ve probably owned this shirt for almost 6 years. For some reason this always used to be my vacation shirt and I used to consider this being dressed up lol. Once again I’m wearing a pair of my Eastland’s, specifically the Sherman 1955 Boots. I love that these boots are a classic suede and have a thick, rugged sole. They are also super comfortable – they kind of feel like a hard-soled slipper. Lately I’ve been on a bold sock kick. Since I’m all about the basics lately, rocking these patterned socks underneath makes you feel like you’ve got a little something unique going on – these are from Happy Socks. Threw on my timeless Timex watch. This watch, though inexpensive, still seems to look good with any outfit. It doesn’t have any bells and whistles like a more expensive watch, but it’s simple, clean and classic. Had a great dinner, got to drink some of my Dogfish Punkin Ale (with the cinnamon and sugar rim) and listened to some live music. Ended off the night at a bar next door with some more beers and some ping pong…where my wife kicked my ass lol
